Ooo la la...

WE WON

Replete with shouts and whoopies of joy....
with frustration and muted curses uttered under breath....
eyes popping out in not-yet-registered amazement..

It was fun... reminiscing of the old days..when every match started with an optimistic air...
when we believed...
when we were kids...

Ahh..heart warmed, we shall go to sleep tonight.
Told you... there is a script writer sitting up there...

I so very desperately hope that this 'Dhoni' is not a flash in the pan..
nor the promise shown..just that.

You seem to be quite happy with the win. I heard the country wailed in tears of joy. =)

Glorious days for Indian cricket, eh?

Quite happy?!! well yes.. it was fun! I clapped...whoopied n all that! :D
Wailed in tears of joy... is an exaggeration I think!
Its not quite the same as an ODI WC
but still...

Lets face the facts... cricket is probably the only sport in which we are atleast globally competitive if not dominant!
Another..fact..
a country of 1 billion NEEDS and is hungry for heroes.. so they wont let any opportunity go by...
Even if that means that we shift from garlanding to stone pelting them with in a week's time.
And a victory in an major international tournament is.. just what the people want!! and they are happy about it.. meanwhile they will dance, erect statues, distribute sweets and all that...

We are a crazy country.

GLorious days for Indian cricket.. hmm thats going too far..I think. This one tournament wont change anything overnight! I still think the probability of the Aussies bashing us up in the next series is more than the alternative. So..lets not get carried away... shall we! =)

Oh no no.. these are glorious days alrite!!

Inspite of my tremendous dislike for T20, I cannot rob the team off the deserved eulogy. To win any tournament featuring more than 3 teams, and beating the Aussies en route.. requires a lil more than jus ridiculously favorable astronomical alignment.

Also, one must not forget the (could ve done better) English series preceding this one..

And c'mon.. when was the last time, you did nt miss Sachin in a cricket tourney, and thought you could afford it. =)

Now the Aussie series.. that is another story =p

a small clarification..
"..cricket is probably the only sport in which...."
when I said that I was talking about sports that enjoy mass-popularity in India
